"... thanks ever so much for the time you spent nurturing my sailing skills during those ten days at sea. As a novice I was a bit apprehensive about going on, what was for me, a long voyage and I was also a bit worried that my skills and knowledge would be found wanting.
However, I needn't have worried: your calm and reassuring manner not only put me at ease but you encouraged me to want to test myself and learn more.
The ability to make a team out of strangers in such a short space of time is a skill to be admired and it was sad to say goodbye to my crewmates.
